Ogun: Supreme Court dismisses Adebutu’s appeal, upholds Abiodun’s election

The Supreme Court has affirmed the March 18 2023 election that produced Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.

A five-member panel of justices presided by Justice Inyang Okoro on Friday held that the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu was unmeritorious.

Adebutu had sought the nullification of Governor Abiodun’s declaration as winner of the election on the ground that the Electoral Act, 2022 was not adhered to, citing corrupt practices and issue of non-qualification.
