Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro has revealed that Real Sociedad striker, Sadiq Umar was ruled out of the competition based on the team’s medical advice.
Speaking during the press conference yesterday, the Portuguese coach said the team doctors said Sadiq will be out of action for 15 days.
“I am confused as well, our team doctor said he would be out for 15 days. We held a meeting with him, and it was the last day to replace a player,” he said.
Meanwhile, Enyimba International goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke has said it’s a great privilege for him to be the only player from the Nigeria Premier Football League in the Super Eagles team.

Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro picked Ojo as the third-choice goalkeeper for the biennial tournament.
The shot-stopper of the Nigeria champions admitted that it’s a privilege for him to be part of the team.
“ I’m very grateful to be part of the family and these great talents we have in the Super Eagles.
It’s a great moment for me, I thank God for the privilege of being the only representative of the NPFL here.
It’s a great moment for me and it doesn’t mean maybe, I’m the best but it’s a privilege. Anybody in my shoes will be grateful to God.
It really shows hard work and commitment is recognised and I thanked everyone and my colleagues”, he said.
