Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani has noted with dismay that the fight against banditry and terrorism has suffered setbacks in recent weeks in the state.

The governor stated this on Monday as he laid the wreath in honour of the country’s fallen heroes during the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in the state.

“In the recent weeks, we had some setbacks, but I have no doubt in my mind because I have confidence in our armed forces, and of course, Mr. President has also made it clear that we have to come up with a timeframe on when this battle against banditry and terrorism has to end,” he said.

According to him, the Northern Governors will cooperate with the armed forces in their capacities as governors and the federal government to ensure that this war against banditry and terrorism is brought to a successful end.

Governor Sani also said the country will never forget fallen heroes who fought and died in defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

According to him, the Remembrance Day event offers the opportunity to honour the veterans.

He also said it offers an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices, bravery, and commitment of the fallen heroes who lost their lives in the defence of their territorial integrity.

The governor thereafter visited wounded soldiers at the Nigerian Air Force Hospital, Kaduna, and 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, where he donated medical equipment and other items like wheelchairs, blankets.
