Why calamities continue to befall our nation – Cleric

The Chairman of Evangelical Church Winning All (DCC), New Karu, Nasarawa State, Reverend Daniel Danladi Sakoma, has said that the reason why calamities and evil continue to befall the nation and the world is because people do not fear and worship God.

Rev Sakoma, who spoke at the funeral service of late Mrs Asibi Ishaku Bulus, mother in-law of Senator Philip Aduda, at the Esu Karu’s palace on Friday, said, “Brothers and sisters, our country, our world, individuals are being plunged into hard and difficult times as calamities befall our nation because there is no fear of God.”

He added that people had become too familiar with worldly things and forgot to devote time in worshipping God, admonishing that people should keep to the commandments of God.

Also speaking, a former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Prof Jerry Gana, described the deceased as a devoted Christian that loved Jesus Christ deeply.

He further said, “I knew the family when we moved to Abuja in 1987 because the husband was very close to us and gave me so many maize farms around New Karu here which has now become an urban area.

“I salute the life of mama who demonstrated the truth of the spirit. She was also full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control.”

On his part, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, represented by his Deputy, Emmanuel Akabe, said late Mama Asibi lived a good life that was worthy of emulation, adding that she touched many lives.
