Mozambique thought they had claimed a famous victory- a first in 13 AFCON matches- but the video assistant referee dashed their hope when it awarded the Pharaohs a penalty after referee Dahane Beida had blown the full-time whistle.S
Salah expertly dispatched the spotkick to break their opponent’s heart and share the points.
Egypt face Ghana in their next group match while Mozambique will try again for three points against Cape Verde.
