The Nigerian Police Polo Association, (NPPA) Nigerian Army Polo Association, (NAPA) the Navy and other paramilitary outfits have been lauded for their unflinching commitment to the promotion of the noble game of polo in the country.
Nigeria Polo Federation (NPF) made this commendation through its First Vice President, Alhaji Tanko Ayuba at the just concluded 2023/2024 Jos international polo tournament where both the Police and the Army teams finished their campaigns for laurels in flying colours.
The Nigerian Army team led by Col. Y Bello successfully defended the President Cup after defeating the ambitious Kano Gilaso team 6-5 in a closely-fought final, while the Police team finished as Runners-up winners in the race for the NASCO Cup prize.
The Special Guest of Honour, the Emir of Bauchi, HRH. Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu who spoke on behalf of other royalties present also commended the Jos polo club for using the game of polo as a tool to consolidate the newfound peace in Jos and for initiating a charity support for the less privileged in Plateau State.

Other top winners of the glamorous year-ending polo fiesta include Kaduna Trappco who won the Imani Cup, while Senator Ahmed Wadada was sensational winning the Unity Cup with his Keffi Pony team.
The battle-ready Army team pivoted by LT. COL. Mazado and Major Mairuwa overpowered their Civilian opponents 6 -5 in a closely fought four-chukker battle at the legendary Gen. Hassan Katsina Polo Ground, to win the GOC Cup.
