Nasarawa: 9 burnt to death in Nasarawa

Nine persons lost their lives as a result of fire outbreaks in 2023 in Nasarawa State.

The Nasarawa State Chief Fire Officer, Mr Ombugu Joshua, who disclosed this in an interview with Daily Trust on Thursday, said the agency saved no fewer than 18 lives in the year under review, adding that an property worth N1,002,092,000.00m were lost and a total of N45,986,090,000.00 property saved by the agency. 

While speaking on the causes of fire outbreak, he posited that 80 percent were due to negligence and carelessness.

He, therefore, advised residents to always switch off all their appliances, saying it would go a long way in reducing fire incidents.
