Yobe supports 16 victims of EndSARS protest

The Yobe State government has presented over sixteen-million-naira cash relief to members of the National Association of Transport Owners (NATO), Yobe State chapter, who were attacked during the EndSARS protest.

One-million-naira cash was presented to each of the sixteen members of NATO who were victims of the protest.

The presentation of the cash relief took place at the conference hall of advisers’ office in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

Speaking while presenting the cash relief to the beneficiaries, the Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Dr Mairo Ahmed Amshi, said the state government was very firm in assisting victims of disasters in the state.

The commissioner added that the EndSARS protest had affected many people within the country hence there was a need for such interventions from government and non-governmental organisations.

In his remarks, state chairman of National Association of Transport Owners (NATO), Yobe State chapter, Alhaji Mohammed Umar Baraden Potiskum, commended the Yobe State government for the cash assistance to the victims of EndSARS protest that mostly affected their members.
