At least 15,000 victims of the 2022/2023 floods would benefit from the Federal Government Special National Economic and Livelihood intervention (SNELEI) in Borno State.
The Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mustapha Habib, disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday during the flag-off of distribution of food and non-food items to the most vulnerable households in Maiduguri.
The DG, represented by the head of the programme, Aliyu Shehu Kafin-dangi, noted that the beneficiaries were carefully selected and verified by the staff of NEMA, SEMA, and other stakeholders across the state.
He said beneficiaries would get food items, irrigation materials, insecticides/sprayer, sewing machines, and other empowerment materials to cushion their sufferings.
