Passport: Nobody should travel to Abuja for change of data – Tunji-Ojo

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, has said that nobody will travel to Abuja because of change of data.

Tunji-Ojo was shedding light on the automated online passport application introduced by the Nigerian Immigration Service.

The minister, during an interview on Channel TV, said that an online passport application platform had been established for both international and Nigerian applicants.

Tunji-Ojo said, “Nobody will travel to Abuja because of the change of data. What you need to do is log into the portal and go through the same process. If you want to change your data you are certainly asking for renewal. You just upload within the system.

“It is not even our responsibility to change data. It’s NIMC’s responsibility. Immediately it is done at NIMC it will synchronize with our system.”

He added that henceforth immigration’s customer care line would be on “24/7.”

“People must feel that sense of ownership. We have put the technical solution. We removed some encumbrances and now created a help desk. It is 24/7,” he said.
