The Coalition of Plateau State Indigenous Youths/Ethnic Nationalities has alleged that suspected herders have embarked on the destruction of homes of displaced persons to frustrate their return from the camps.
The group, who called on the government and security agencies to intervene by halting the action, alleged that the action was for the perpetrators to grab the lands of the indigenous communities.
The group Chairman and Secretary, Com Paul Dekete and Amb Duwam Bosco respectively, who led the coalition in a press conference in Jos yesterday, noted that the ongoing demolition of homes of the displaced was not just mere rumours but the usual style of the perpetrators.

Com Dekete said, “As we speak, there are more than 100 communities that are forcefully taken over from indigenous communities after killing the occupants or displacing them. The recent villages attacked by gunmen numbering over 30 have already been encroached on by the attackers.”
