A Kano State Shariah court on Friday made a U-turn and withdrew its order for the arrest of a senior customs officer, Yusuf Ismail Mai Biscuit.
Recall that the court presided over by Garba Hamza Malafa, on Thursday, issued a warrant of arrest against Biscuit in a suit before on the grounds that he was absent from court and not represented during proceedings.
Another order was issued and signed by the court on Friday, indicating that the initial order had been withdrawn with immediate effect.
The court explained that the withdrawal was sequel to the explanation of the defence counsel, Barr Sani Idris, who established that despite the fact that his client was not personally summoned, he was in the court.
