‘Don’t wait for white collar job, embrace skills acquisition’ NDE tells youths

Unemployed youths across the country has been urged not to continue waiting for white collar job but to embrace skills acquisition to become self-reliant

 The Nasarawa state Coordinator of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Dauda Idris Wase made the call recently during the training of 20 unemployed youths under its Advanced National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (A-NOAS) in order to make them self-reliant.

 Wase said that the training will upgrade the participants previously trained under the Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme and would last for two months, “The training will sharpen previously acquired skills of the participants in their chosen vocations using modern advanced methods of service delivery available in industries and corporate outfits.”

 He added, “This training will enhance their marketability and open doors for increased employment opportunities and the skills involved will include Computer Operations, Networking and Web Designing, Metal Construction Works and Fabrication, Hairdressing and Treatment, Catering Services and Confectionery Production.”
