Two arrested for ‘slitting’ neighbour’s throat in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Abdullateef Yakubu and Yakubu Olanrewaju of Shao Garage area, Ilọrin, for allegedly slitting the throat of a neighbour over a disagreement.

It was learnt that the incident occurred around past 12:00 am on Monday at Shao Garage area, Ilọrin.

A source familiar with the matter told our correspondent that a brother of the victim, AbdulRazaq Babatunde, who was attracted by the shout of a resident, came out only to find his younger brother, Abubakar Babatunde, in a pool of blood, bleeding from the slit throat.

“He was subsequently rushed to the UITH (University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital) for medical attention,” the source added.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, a DSP, confirmed the incident.

“Two persons have been arrested in connection with the matter and investigation is still ongoing. The needful will be done as soon as we conclude our findings,” she said.
