The FCT minister of state, Hajiya Mariya Mahmoud, said women and children played a significant role in nation building.
Mahmoud stated this when she visited Ayaura Primary Health Centre in Abaji Area Council in company of the FCT mandate secretaries for Health and Women Affairs to receive newly born twins of the year, January, 1, 2024.
She said the marking of the first baby in the new year has shown the importance the government attaches to women and children in the country.
“I am so overwhelmed to welcome twins; strong and healthy baby boys from one of the parents that gave birth to the first baby of the year. Indeed, God is the greatest of all,” she said.
