23-year-old Rafiu Odeyemi was at the weekend arrested by some residents of an estate (name withheld) in Lagos when he and his fellow suspected cultists stormed the estate to avenge an earlier attack on their members by a rival cult group.
It was learnt that the residents came out in their numbers when they noticed the presence of some strange faces in their estate.
The residents rose up, to ward off any attack on anyone when they discovered that the armed young men were in their estate to carry out an attack on a yet-to-be-identified person.
The brave residents, according to some witnesses, succeeded in apprehending Rafiu with his firearm, while the rest escaped arrest.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the attack on his X page.
Hundeyin who commended the residents of the estate for not taking laws into their hands said the residents, whom he described as law-abiding, promptly handed over the suspect to the police.
He said efforts were on to arrest other fleeing members of the gang and that the full weight of the law would be brought to bear on the suspect.
“The suspect is to be arraigned at the conclusion of investigation,” he added.
