Bandits shot and injured a vigilante member identified as Samson while abducting three persons at Barangoni in Bwari central ward of the council.
A resident of Barangoni, Joshua Madaki, said the incident happened in the early hours of Monday, when the bandits invaded the area.
He said the bandits invaded the house of one Ishaya Markus after gaining entrance through the exit back door and whisked away the three victims at gunpoint.
He said the vigilantes who were on patrol heard a strange sound and decided to trace the location, in which he said one of the bandits opened fire upon sighting the vigilantes and injured one of them.

He said the vigilante member who sustained a bullet wound on his thigh has been rushed to the hospital in the area for treatment.
City & crime had reported that rural communities in Bwari Area Council have been under siege by bandits for over week ago.
The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, is yet to reply to a text message sent to her phone to confirm the latest kidnap incident as at the time of filing the report.
