Humble background should not limit your aspirations – Boss Mustapha charges youths

The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has asked youths in the country to aspire for the best they can get, charging them that a humble beginning was not enough to limit their aspirations.

Addressing the Hoba Youths during a grand civic reception held in his honour by the Hoba Elders Forum in Hong Local government Area of Adamawa State, the former SGF encouraged them to reach for greater heights in life in their life pursuit.

Mustapha noted that if the son of a village headmaster could achieve success, despite the many challenges he faced, then the Hoba youths could also succeed in their chosen endeavour.

Mustapha shared his personal story of how his father was a primary school teacher, and despite not coming from a big political family, he was able to ascend to the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, serving as the 19th SGF in terms of tenure, with the second-longest tenure in the history of Nigeria.

He emphasised that if the son of a village headmaster could make it, then nothing should stop the Hoba youths from achieving their goals in life.

He acknowledged that appointments are not based solely on qualifications, experiences, or skills. Instead, it is first ascribed to the grace of God and the benevolence of the president who found them worthy of occupying their respective offices.

Also speaking, Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, noted that Boss Mustapha was instrumental in his appointment to the board of the NNDC, and he will forever be grateful for what he has done.

Professor Mamman believed that Boss Mustapha still has a role to play in the leadership of the country because of the major role he played in stabilising the system when the APC was in crisis.
