Minister of Sports Development, Sen. John Enoh has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is backing the Super Eagles to go all the way at the forthcoming CAF African Confederation Cup of Nations, (AFCON), slated for Cote d’Ivoire next year.

The minister’s comment is coming on the heels of the comment by former international, Mikel Obi, that the Super Eagles remain one of the top favourites to lift the trophy.

Many soccer enthusiasts are optimistic that the country is ripe for a fourth AFCON glory after its 2013 conquest in South Africa, the last of its three titles.

As Nigeria kick off their campaign on 14 January against Equatorial Guinea, all eyes will be on the team and its coaching crew.

The team’s Portuguese tactician and former Real Madrid assistant manager, Jose Peseiro, is aiming to become the first coach to guide the Super Eagles to continental glory since Stephen Keshi’s triumph in 2013.
