A total of 219,125 people are said to be benefitting from the federal government’s Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer in Niger State to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.
The beneficiaries under Phase 1 of the National Social Safety Net Programme would also continue to benefit from the scaled up programme.
The Head of the State Cash Transfer Unit, Suleiman Hussaini Kpange, said that 333 facilitators were trained across the 25 LGAs of the state to handle the disbursement.
He said beneficiaries would receive N25,000 each for three months, explaining that the beneficiaries were mined from the existing National Social Register and Rapid Response Register to ensure transparency and accountability in the programme.
