Police alert residents of gov’t-sponsored fireworks

The police in Benue State have notified residents of Makurdi metropolis of government-sponsored fireworks on December 31, to usher in the New Year.

Spokeswoman of the command, SP Catherine Anene, in a statement on Friday, noted that the fireworks would be displayed at midnight around the Low Level roundabout.

Anene said, “The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, George Chuku, wishes to inform the public that there will be a government-sponsored fireworks on 31st December, 2023, into 1st January, 2024, at the roundabout beside Dexters Eatery, Low Level, Makurdi. This is part of the activities put in place for the New Year celebration.”
