A hit-and-run driver has crushed three women to death in the Gboko area of Benue State.
Witnesses said that the incident happened Wednesday evening while the victims stood along the new road in Gboko town.
It was learnt that the driver of a black highlander vehicle ran into the three women after he veered off the road.
The driver allegedly fled with the vehicle while the victims were immediately rushed to Baki clinic in Gboko, where the three were confirmed dead on arrival.

State Command’s Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Arc Oladele Meshach, directed our correspondent to officers operating in the area who confirmed the incident.
The FRSC officials narrated that it was a lone accident which occurred after the driver ran into the victims by the road side, killing them in the process.
“As of this morning (Thursday), the driver of the vehicle has not reported himself to the police,” the road safety official said.
