Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (KSPWA) has cautioned intending pilgrims against dealing with touts and middlemen in their quest to register for next year’s hajj in the state.
The agency also asked the intending pilgrims to deal directly with designated registration officers stationed across the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state for registration and other inquiries.
Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, the executive chairman of the agency, disclosed this during a live phone-in radio programme called ‘Dabazarku’ on KSMC Radio Kaduna.
He assured intending pilgrims that the agency has taken proactive measures to protect their interests and prevent any form of exploitation during Hajj deposit payments.

He emphasized that the agency’s officials are strictly prohibited from accepting cash. “Their role is solely to guide eligible individuals through the registration process and issue them with appropriate bank tellers.”
Malam Salihu said the agency has introduced a key measure by providing customized teller slips with the bank name and account number of the agency to avoid cash transactions with agency officials.
The chairman also reiterated the deadline for Hajj deposit payments as December 31, 2023, and urged intending pilgrims from Kaduna State to complete their registration to avoid missing out on the opportunity.
