Following his loss to Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia, former heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder, says he still wants to fight previous two-time heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua.
Parker stunned former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder on Saturday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, putting a long-awaited big-money match against Anthony Joshua in 2024 in jeopardy.
On the same night, Anthony Joshua delivered one of his best performances since 2018, defeating Otto Wallin via technical knockout in the fifth round.
However, the 38-year-old American fighter claims he still wants to fight Joshua, but that Joshua will use Parker’s loss to avoid fighting him.

“They don’t want to get into that fight. Did you notice how happy he was when I lost?” Wilder explained to 78SPORTSTV.
“He was like, ‘I’m not fighting Wilder. He was rumoured to be considering retirement if I won… The fight can yet continue on March 9th. But this is an excellent way for them to get out,” he further stated.
When asked about Wilder, whom he was due to face in March but who had lost earlier in the evening to Parker, Anthony Joshua stated: “I’m going to take the higher ground,” Joshua added, “and I hope he (Wilder) comes back.”
