Borussia Dortmund player, Karim Adeyemi has given assurance to support young budding footballers in Nigeria and African at large.

Adeyemi stated this during his visit to Maracana stadium- tucked inside a suburb community in Ajegunle area in Lagos, adding his foundation is commitment to provide sporting facilities for aspiring footballers to thrive.

“Not everybody has a chance to come to a better league- maybe to Europe and make his way to everything. So we try to let children from a young age play football, let them see if they are really good and everything can happen.

“The plan is to look for the kids for a better future in football, to know each other and have fun playing football together,” he said.

The German professional footballer lauded the current African king, Victor Osimhen, extolling his football attributes both in the Italian and champion league.

“I think the best player is Osimhen because I think he plays well in his league and in the champion league, so he does both and I think is the best Nigeria guy,” he said.

Earlier, welcoming Adeyemi to the Stadium, Mr. Yemi Idowu, the founder, Nathaniel Idowu Foundation appreciated the support the community has received to put a facelift to the stadium, saying it is a testament to the partnership between the public and private sector.

“A lot of enthusiasm, some of them are young to understand what this is all about but at least they will remember that when they were young they came to a place like this,” he said.
