FG tasks FERMA board on transformation

The Minister of Works, Sen David Umahi, has inaugurated the sixth Governing Board of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) with a charge to ensure improvement in the condition of federal roads nationwide.

Umahi, while speaking during the inauguration in Abuja, said President Bola Tinubu had approved a supplementary budget for 236 road projects earmarked for palliative intervention.

While congratulating the appointed board members on their selection by President Tinubu, the minister assured the public of a transformative shift in road conditions over the next two years.

He charged the board members to be patriotic and committed to their duties, emphasising the importance of their role in shaping FERMA’s mandate.

The Managing Director/CEO of FERMA, Engr Chukwuemeka Agbasi, in his remarks, outlined a vision for visible improvement in road conditions, reduced operating costs and enhanced socio-economic conditions for road users during his four-year tenure.

The inaugurated board includes Engr Agbasi; Yusuf Lawal Othman, representing NARTO; Engr Ibi Terna Manasseh, representing FMW; ACM Shehu Mohammed, representing FRSC; Babatunde Daramola-Oniru, representing the Federal Ministry of Finance; Hon Preye Oseke, representing South South; Hon Oye Ojobe, representing South West; Dr Kenneth Ugbala, representing South East; Sen Timothy Adudu, representing North Central; Engr Abubakar Bappa, representing North  East and Aminu Adamu Papa, representing the North West.
