In a bid to ensure a hitch-free festive season, the FCT police commissioner, CP Haruna Garba, has ordered divisional police officers (DPOs) and police area commanders across the territory to ensure all worship and recreational centres are properly manned.
Garba gave the charge when he summoned the police area commanders, DPO’s and tactical commanders for a meeting at the command conference hall on Thursday in Abuja.
He directed them to ensure that they deployed officers to churches, mosques and other event centres to check crime before, during and after the season across the FCT.
The CP, while stressing the imperative of intelligence-led and visibility policy, charged the senior police officers to take adequate measures to clamp down on criminal elements within their respective areas of responsibility in line with global best practices.
