Hajj deposit: Kaduna urges intending pilgrims to meet December 31st deadline

The Executive Chairman, Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, has urged all intending pilgrims planning to perform next year’s Hajj to try and meet the deadline by registering on or before December 31, 2023.

He emphasised that all intending pilgrims must deposit N4.5 million into the designated bank account of the state pilgrims’ welfare agency before the deadline.

Speaking at a media briefing in Kaduna, Malam Salihu stated that the date for the closure of registration is December 31, as scheduled by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

He called on imams of Juma’at mosques, Muslim leaders, and media partners to assist in sensitising the Muslim community about the importance of meeting the registration deadline.

The executive chairman advised intending pilgrims to collect customised bank tellers from registration officers in the 23 LGAs of the state for payments.

“We understand that fulfilling the requirements for Hajj is a significant undertaking, and we want to assure all intending pilgrims that the registration process is still ongoing until December 31st, 2023,” he added.

According to Malam Salihu, all collected fares must be remitted to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) by January 5, 2024, in compliance with new guidelines issued by the Saudi Arabian authorities.

He assured that the agency remains committed to ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj experience for its valued pilgrims.

He also stated that the committee set up by the government would make changes to improve Hajj operations, ensuring that pilgrims get value for their money.
