Arewa Network Decries Alleged Intimidation Of Northern Professionals In NGF

The Northern Emancipation Network (NEN) has expressed concerns over alleged marginalization of Northern professionals within the administrative staff structure of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF).

This was contained in a statement signed by NEN Secretary-General, Haruna Ibrahim Anaruwa, on Wednesday.

“Of particular concern to the NEN is the recent incident involving Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, Director of Media & Public Affairs, a highly skilled Northern media professional, who was intimidated and purportedly sacked.”

“The NEN firmly supports Barkindo and condemns any unjust treatment or unwarranted dismissal based on baseless claims and insists on the strict adherence to due process,” the statement said.

The network also called for thorough investigation of the allegations against the Director-General of the NGF.

“The NEN urges the Nigerian Governors to thoroughly investigate the allegations raised against the DG and take appropriate action to rectify the situation. The unjust treatment of Abdulrazaque Bello Barkindo and the doubtful appointment process of the DG must be thoroughly examined and rectified.

“Failure to address these concerns will only perpetuate the culture of impunity and further deepen the marginalization of Northern professionals in the NGF, an outcome that will be vehemently resisted.

“The NEN, a committed advocate for the rights and fair treatment of Northern professionals in all sectors of society, will continue to closely monitor the situation and take necessary actions to ensure justice and equal opportunities for all,” the statement said.
