The Yoruba Traditional Council in the 19 Northern States and Abuja has commended the role of the northern governors, traditional rulers, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and youth organizations in dousing the tension following the face-off between the Arewa Youth Coalition and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
A statement by the Chairman of the Council, Ambassador Mohammed Arigbabuwo, expressed happiness over the agreement by the two groups to come to terms following the quick intervention of major stakeholders.
While he thanked the security agencies for their proactive action, he urged them to continue to serve the country without bias. “The roles played by all Nigerians on the issue showed that the unity of Nigeria is paramount to everybody,” he said.
