The Kwara State House of Assembly has urged the state government to direct the Ministry of Finance to release all approvals for clearing of drainages in the state to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to avert flood disaster and outbreak of diseases. The House made the plea after considering a report of its Committee on Health and Environment on a motion presented by a member representing Kaiama/Kemanji / Wajibe constituency, Ahmed Ibn Muhammed, imploring the state Ministry of Environment and Forestry to intensify their enlightenment programme against flooding.
