IHRC decorates Amb Ma’aji with medal of honour in Dubai

The Chairman of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC), Ambassador Muhammad Shahid Khan, has decorated their African Ambassador, Dr Malami Shehu Maa’ji, with a medal of honour for his outstanding performance, selfless service and dedication to humanity in African nations.

Ambassador Khan made the decoration at the closing day of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP-28) at the UN Building in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

He also officially decorated Amb Ma’aji as the Ambassador of Sash, indicating the class of Grand Cross in an order of merit based on the tradition of India.

Ambassador Khan commended Ambassador Ma’aji for his dedication and service to humanity, passion for human rights, peace and African progress and efforts to effect positive change through diplomatic engagements.

Dr Ma’aji, a Nigerian, is the African Ambassador at Large of IHRC.

It would be recalled that during the COP-28, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation presented a certificate of commendation to Ambassador Ma’aji for his active participation in Azerbaijan’s “Plant a Tree” initiative.
