Close ranks to tackle crime, ex-IGP tells security agencies

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Solomon Arase, has urged all the security agencies to close ranks to tackle the financial crimes threatening the nation’s economy.

Arase, a former Inspector General of Police (IGP), queried the institutional capacity of the national security and intelligence community to professionally detect, prevent and deploy modern investigative tools towards dissecting the signatures of fraudsters.

He spoke at the annual lecture and award ceremony of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) in Lagos at the weekend, saying enhanced technical, intellectual and professional capacities were needed to understand the complex trials of financial crimes.
