Gov Idris approves payment of N1.7bn to 745 retirees in Kebbi

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has approved the release of N1,795,505,173.08 for the payment of gratuity and death benefits to 745 State, Local Government, Local Government Education Authority, as well as contract staff from May 15th to October 15th 2023.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Kebbi State Head of Service, Alhaji Sufyanu Garba Bena and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

It said the 745 retirees were scrutinised and verified by the office of the Head of Service through a committee comprising the organised labour and other stakeholders.

According to the statement, the gratuity for 318 retirees/death benefits and contract staff beneficiaries’ payment amounts to N972,710,4.

The payment for local government gratuity/death benefits to 247 beneficiaries amounts to N427,971,191,33 while the payment for LGEA gratuity/death benefits to 180 beneficiaries amounts to N394,823,495.83 making the total sum of N1.795,505,173,08.
