7 nabbed over energy theft, metre tampering in Kwara

 

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara has arrested seven suspects over alleged theft of energy, electricity, and metre tampering.

The suspects, it was gathered, were picked up during a raid by the combined team of NSCDC and officials of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) from various locations.

They were alleged to have been involved in energy stealing and metre by-passing in their houses.

The Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in the state, Ayoola Michael, who confirmed the arrest on Wednesday, said the raid was in continuation of the war on vandalisation of government property in the state.

Michael said the seven suspects arrested were being investigated and interrogated by officials of the NSCDC and would soon be charged in court on completion of the investigation.
