The village market in Beji in Bosso LGA of Niger State has been closed down for two weeks to douse the tension which arose from a violent confrontation between herders and vigilantes which claimed lives and left many others with injuries.
The Niger State Commissioner for Homeland Security, Maj Gen Abdullahi Muhammad (Rtd), said the state government was tackling the crisis, noting that stakeholders had been engaged.
