Suspected hoodlums and some residents of Babanla community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State clashed yesterday over the arrest of a kingpin.
Daily Trust gathered that the incident, which occurred on Sunday has created tension among the affected residents.
It was gathered that the kingpin, whose name could not be ascertained at press time, was arrested for the offence of what a police source described as “fomenting trouble”.
But a member of the community, Barrister Muftau Yusuf told our correspondent on Monday evening that the issue was between some Hausa residents and hoodlums who are also Hausa.

He said “They have constituted themselves into a group and demand payment of around a thousand naira or thereabouts from their kinsmen when they are taking their farm produce to the market for sale.”
The Police Public Relations Officer in Kwara, Ejire Adetoun Adeyemi confirmed the incident during a chat with our correspondent on Monday evening.
