Street begging: Borno to rehabilitate, empower PWD with skills

The Borno State government said it is working to create viable alternatives for Persons with Disability (PWD) who are engaged in street begging.

The state Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Prof. Usman Tar, disclosed this yesterday in Maiduguri at an event to commemorate the International Day for Persons with Disabilities.

Tar said the Zulum’s administration would ensure that PWD has access to rehabilitation programmes that will equip them with the necessary skills for sustainable livelihoods.
