2 arrested over theft of church musical instruments

Police in Delta State have arrested two suspects for allegedly stealing musical instruments belonging to the Redeem Christian Church of God otherwise known as “Dominion Mega”.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this to newsmen in Asaba said the suspects are notorious and unrepentant thieves who specialise in burgling churches, shops and homes.

He added that the suspects are infamous for strings of church break-ins in the state.

He said the arrest of one Patrick Emete, who posted one of the stolen amplifiers for sale on his Facebook page led to the arrest of his associate, Alex Uwagbafor (45) at New Era Clinic, Deco Road, Warri.

He listed items recovered from suspects to include twenty big loudspeakers, three generator sets, 15 large mixer amplifiers, four keyboards, 12 power amplifiers, ten industrial standing fans and one complete drum set.

He said efforts are ongoing to recover more stolen items while the suspects will be prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations.
