Man kills neighbour over food in Edo

The police have arrested a 21-year-old man, Johnson Edosa, for allegedly killing his neighbour, Promise (23), following an argument over food in Benin City, Edo State.

It was gathered that the duo who lived on East Circular Road had an argument over food in the daytime and the suspect later killed his victim in the night, claiming that he was insane.

The Edo State command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident, said the DPO of St Saviour received information about a murder case of one Promise (23) by one Johnson Edosa (21).

He said, “The victim and the suspect were living in the same house when suddenly the suspect attacked him while he was asleep and used a knife to cut his neck.

“After killing the suspect, Johnson’s mother conspired with him and buried the victim in a shallow grave right inside the house near his father’s grave.”
