Women supporters of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) on Friday converged on the residence of the leader of the Kwankwasiyya political camp, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for a special prayer session.
The women, in company with other male supporters led by the organiser, Fatima Hanif, sought God’s intervention and success of the party in the Kano governorship dispute.
This is coming barely 12 hours after the state police command warned of any attempt by any political party or its members to stage a public procession or protest.
Speaking, the organiser said, “We are out here to seek God’s intervention in this matter of injustice some haters of Kano are trying to do to us. Those who are trying to bring violence and anarchy to us.
“Secondly, we are holding this special prayer session for peace and tranquillity to reign in our dear state, we don’t have any place like Kano and our Governor will, God willing, win and prosper.”
Several prayer sessions were also observed and led by several individuals.
