Nigerian singer Oladipupo Oladimeji, popularly known by his stage name, Oladips, has removed the obituary post from his Instagram profile on Thursday.
However, a fresh video of Oladips grooving to a song off his most recent album, Superhero Adugbo, has been uploaded to the Instagram page.
The rapper was said to have died after suffering from a health problem, according to reports that broke on November 11.
But there was a controversy about the reported death as some persons said it was a publicity stunt, assuring that he was alive.
Wavy, a longtime friend of Oladips, had subsequently clarified that his viral posts claiming that the rapper was alive were simply him being in denial.
In a brand-new video that was uploaded to Oladips Instagram profile, the rapper expressed regret for the agitation his posts had caused, leading some Nigerians to wonder if the November 15, 2023 announcement about his death was true.
Wavy claimed that the popular video he shared on November 16, 2023, was two years old and that he was just trying to convince himself that his friend had not passed away.
He said, “Concerning my video trending about the death of Oladips, I want to clarify to everybody that the video that you see me with Oladips is over two years old. That video is old, and number two, I’m not sure if he’s dead or alive. I was just like ‘No, he can’t be dead,’ ‘it’s not possible for Oladips to be dead,’ that’s the only reason why I put it out there that he’s alive.”
