Kano urges agencies to emulate KSCHMA on service charter

Kano State government has called on agencies under the Ministry of Health to emulate the efforts of the state Contributory Health Management Agency (KSCHMA) to either develop or review their service charter for effective healthcare delivery in the state.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, called during a three-day workshop organised by the agency in collaboration with Lafiya Project to develop a service charter for the agency to improve the implementation of the contributory healthcare scheme.

According to a statement signed by the Information Officer of the agency, Mohammad Nura Yusuf, the Executive Secretary, KSCHMA, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar, stated that for the agency to perform its responsibilities of providing affordable healthcare services and supporting the residents of Kano to overcome  financial hardship of setting medical  bills, the development of a service charter was paramount.

On his part, the Permanent Secretary, SERVICOM Directorate, Alhaji Nura Babba Dan Agundi, explained that the service charter was a guiding document carefully designed to guide clients, customers, and beneficiaries in the fundamentals of ministries, departments, and agencies and how to seek service and redress.

The representative of the state Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Abba Adamu Danguguwa, maintained that service charter is not only a document but a symbol of delivering quality healthcare services among others.
