Govt to improve Corps members welfare with Paris fund

The Niger State Government has said that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to the state would be adequately taken careof with the Paris Fund refund.

Speaking at the opening of the 2017 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation camp and swearing-in of the corps members deployed to the state yesterday, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello said the state government has the required resource to meet its obligation to the corps members.

The state government had promised a standing monthly allowance of N5, 000 each to corps members posted to government offices.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Malam Ibrahim Isah Ladan, Governor Bello promised that the corps members would henceforth get what was due to them in the view of improved revenue. He however called for a review of the NYSC curriculum to include skill acquisition. 

The NYSC state coordinator, Mrs Theresa Ibukun Arokoyo said the scheme is still relevant in the quest for a greater Nigeria.
