‘Suspected robber’ lynched in Bauchi

A suspected armed robber has been lynched in the staff quarters of the Bishop Moore Memorial School, Bauchi, Bauchi State.

The state’s police command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement, said that operatives attached to the GRA Division led by the DPO in conjunction with vigilantes swiftly responded to an armed robbery incident in the Bishop Moore Memorial School on November 4, 2023, at about 0430 hours.

The statement reads in part: “Upon arrival at the scene, the suspects took to their heels to a nearby mountain. However, they were pursued and arrested.

“The prompt response of the operatives prevented the suspects from being lynched, but one of the suspects was killed as a result of mob action.”
