Banditry: Gov Sani, Operation Safe Haven to resettle 15 displaced southern Kaduna communities

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has announced that his administration, in collaboration with security agencies, especially Operation Safe Haven, has finalised plans to resettle Southern Kaduna communities displaced by bandits to their ancestral homes. 

Governor Sani revealed this collaborative effort while addressing journalists after the state’s Security Council meeting at Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna, on Wednesday.

Flanked by the General Officers Commanding 3 Division and 1 Division Nigerian Army, Maj General AbdulSalam Abubakar and Maj General Valentine Okoro, he emphasised the government’s commitment to providing all necessary logistics for the resettlement of displaced communities to their ancestral homes.

He said the government was also prepared to assist in rebuilding these communities where necessary.

Major General Abubakar, GOC 3 Division and Commander Operation Safe Haven, revealed that the first phase of resettlement will begin with 15 communities.

Maj. General Okoro, GOC 1 Division, added that the government and security agencies were harmonising efforts with all security stakeholders in the state to create a network security architecture that effectively covers observed gaps.
