NAFSAT donates clothes, toiletries to Edo correctional centre

The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), Edo State branch, has donated clothes, toiletries and other items to the Benin correctional centre.

 Speaking during the event, Benin NAFSAT chairman, Olajide Kaseem, said the visit was to identify with the Muslim inmates in the correctional centre with a view to seeing how they are faring.

 “We are here to identify with the Muslim inmates. We are also here to present clothes, toiletries such as soap, Dettol, tissue paper, tooth paste, tooth brushes, among other things we think they need.

 “During the visit, we worship with them and admonish them to see their predicament as an act of God and change their way whenever they regain freedom and be of good behaviour,” Kaseem said.

 He said they find out that some of the inmates only need to pay a fine of N20 000 and below to regain their freedom but are still held due to their inability to pay the fine.
