Armed invaders have reportedly killed seven people in two communities in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
Locals said that the attacks occurred on Sunday in Tse Gamber community and another settlement along Naka-Agagbe, both in Gwer West LGA.
The villagers said that while four people were killed in the early Sunday morning attack on Tse Gamber in Sengev Council ward, three persons were killed in the evening of the same day at Camp Nagi in Mbachohon Council ward, a settlement along Naka-Agagbe road.
Terna Ibaah Jacob, an Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp Manager in Agagbe, said some of the deceased had been displaced from their community and living either in camps or host community.

Jacob particularly pointed out that one of the deceased, Gamber Awuhe, 45, was killed on Sunday evening when he went fishing – his only means of catering for his family.
“He knew that it was dangerous to go to the community where he was displaced from but it was the only option for survival as his crops had been eaten by cows and the rest consumed by flood. He has three wives and many children,” the camp manager added.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benue State command, SP. Catherine Anene, however, confirmed three people dead.
“That is my village (Tse Gamber). Three of my cousins were killed; that is the total number,” Anene said.
