Fire razes feeds stores in Yobe

Thousands of bags of bran used as feed worth over N50m have been destroyed by fire in five stores and 10 shops at the Cooperative Society office in the Potiskum Market in Potiskum LGA of Yobe State.

 The incident, which happened on Wednesday, also affected the section of frozen fish.

 While confirming the incident, the Chairman of the United Market Traders Association, Alhaji Nasir Mato, said over five trailers of feed were destroyed by the fire which they suspected emanated from an electrical fault.

 While sympathising with the victims, Alhaji Mato called on the government and relevant authorities to come to their aid.
