Traffic logjam as tanker falls, spills content on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

There’s a heavy gridlock along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Wednesday after a tanker fell and spilled its content on the highway.

It was gathered that residents trooped out with jerry cans in their hands immediately the tanker crashed, barricading the highway.

They had made attempts to scoop fuel being spilt by the fuel truck around Dan co, outward Lagos.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the crash of the truck to newsmen.

FRSC Spokesman, Florence Okpe, said the area was cordoned off to avoid a secondary crash.

“A crash involving a fallen tanker just occurred around Danco on the outward section of Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

“FRSC rescue team are on ground, fire service contacted and crash area conned to avoid secondary crash,” she said.

Our correspondent reports that the fallen tanker has caused heavy gridlock on the highway.
